A maintenance technician performs preventative maintenance procedures, such as installation, minor repairs, and troubleshooting, on facility equipment. Their responsibilities may include replacing faulty parts, answering maintenance requests or calls from employees, and adjusting equipment. Students at SJVC’s Maintenance Technician program in Modesto can earn a certificate of completion in as few as 7 months or an Associate of Science Degree in as little as 14 months.
